Series Introduction: The Rhythm of Rest
We live in a world that celebrates constant activity. Success is often measured by how busy we are, how much we produce, or how quickly we move from one goal to the next. Yet from the very beginning, God established a different rhythm—a rhythm of work and rest.
In Leviticus 25, He commanded the Israelites to let their farmland rest every seventh year, a principle that carried deep spiritual and practical meaning. It wasn’t simply about agriculture; it was about trust, stewardship, and the recognition that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him.
In this three-part series, I reflect on how this principle of rest applies not only to farmland in ancient times but also to the resources God has entrusted to us today. From the ground beneath our feet, to the thoughts in our mind, to the very rhythm of our daily lives, rest is not a luxury—it is a necessity.
Part 1: Rest for the Land – God’s Wisdom for Resources
Part 2: The Mind – Our Most Valuable Resource
Part 3: The Rhythm of Rest – Trusting God in Our “Seventh Year”
My prayer is that as you read through these reflections, you will begin to see rest not as wasted time, but as God’s strategy for renewal, growth, and blessing.
