A concern I have and I think everyone should have, is being in the wrong and believing you are hundred percent in the right. It is foolish when one begins walking faster in the wrong direction believing he/she is in the right.
Perspective matters. Your current state of mind is important as that determines how you are processing your thoughts and making decisions. Decisions taken today will impact the quality of tomorrow.
I like to be sure that I am always on the right path in whatever I am doing. I like to use my objective head and the right amount of emotions to think and make decisions. Using one more than the other can skew your decisions. I find it necessary to hold off making important decisions when I am flooded with my emotions.
With a mind that has the right composure about any matter, you are more likely to have successful outcomes in life which leads to a higher quality in life generally.
Perspective matters. One must understand that in whatever subject, and issue we are faced with, there is more than one way of looking at it or interpreting it. To be stuck on one way of interpreting a subject will really be limiting the chances of successful outcomes.
Discussions, negotiations, and communications will be difficult if we are bent on seeing things unilaterally.
Making judgements and, reaching conclusions will result to limited success if we are not open to seeing things from different angles. Seeing things rightly, will entail considering them in other ways in order to come to meaningful and successful conclusions.
How can you know there may be another way of seeing a particular subject, another perspective? If you are not exposed to other views, cultures or changes happening around you, this would be difficult. We must be willing to pause, listen and learn every day.
There are two ways to see the proverbial cup. Half full or half empty. To be honest, we should always consider both options. How should I be looking at this cup now, in this moment?
If we always see ‘the cup’ half full, we will run into problems. We will be over zealous, and under prepared which will leave us with more disappointments than is necessary.
If we always see ‘the cup’ half empty, we will be left in the side lines of life. Negativity breeds all sorts of failures. One majority is the failure to start. Failure to start includes failure to starting new relationships, failure to starting a business, basically, the failure to take advantage of an opportunity. A negative mindset is a hinderer of launching new opportunities. It is difficult to walk through open doors with a negative mindset. You probably can’t see an opened door with a negative mindset. The scary thing about missed opportunities is when we refuse to admit that we have put ourselves in a disadvantaged position because of negativity. Again, this alludes to the issue of a foolish man walking faster in the wrong direction believing he is right.
Be true to yourself while trying to be reasonable, when you are making decisions or negotiating with others. There could be another perspective to the subject of discussion or contention. Being open to other views brings out better outcomes for you and increases your chances of being in a better place, that is the peace of mind.
