Peace: The Effective Stabilizer – Part 2

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” – Jesus Christ (John 14:27)

Yes, life can be challenging. We are always climbing mountains, requiring inner strength and resilience. On some days, we slide down into valleys and ditches of life. But your peace must remain with you in all situations.

When I was younger, I preferred to be in loud company—parties, social gatherings, and functions. Now, I realize that quiet places bring me the most joy. I don’t need to be surrounded by people, noise, and activity to be at peace.

All this time, I may have been looking for peace and joy from others and external things, but I have come to understand that they are within me. God has placed His peace in you.

I’m not saying that being among friends and in social settings cannot bring you inner peace but ensure that you carry peace within you. This way, you can create a peaceful atmosphere even in chaotic situations.

When we face challenges, it is crucial to maintain our peace. This ensures that when dealing with others, we do not take out our stress and frustration on them.

Peace is a major factor in ensuring stability in life. Make up your mind to fight, to survive, and to live—knowing that God has your back. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Sometimes, it may be difficult to envision how you will get through a particular situation. But imagine the Lord holding out His arms for you to run into. If you fall, you will fall right into His love. With Him, it will always be a win-win situation.

Whenever I go through a challenge, the first thing I do is quickly call up peace from within. I remind myself and speak affirmations that I have calmness and assurance from the Lord.

When I do this, I know God has me covered, and all I need to do is wait for His direction. Solving a problem from a position of peace helps in many ways—you stay focused, think more clearly, sleep better, and keep stress and anxiety at bay. This, in turn, maintains your overall physical, mental, and spiritual health.

Accept the peace of the Lord and do not let it slip away from you. Peace may be offered from other sources, but it often comes with conditions and never truly lasts.

You must decide to live a stress-free life to have one. Being intentional about peace will open up paths to rewarding wellness. While social media offers an abundance of health and wellness ideas, remember that God gives a kind of peace that cannot be diluted or stolen. His voice within you offers great comfort and knowing Him and His love for you provides even greater assurance. Everything else you find on the internet can be utilized accordingly, but always ensure it is verified and suits your uniqueness.

Tell yourself to remain peaceful always. Sometimes, we may feel tempted to return fire for fire, insult for insult, or seek revenge. But this only allows turmoil to fester within us. For the sake of our peace, we must extend grace and, at times, make excuses for others.

Maintaining peace requires effort. Some level of discipline is needed, but nothing that God’s Holy Spirit cannot provide if you desire it. Make peace a mandatory component of your inner being and your life.

I pray that God’s peace guards and cushions your heart always.
